MACC to charge former minister over misappropriation of funds

A source from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission says a former minister will be the charged by the anti-graft body for misappropriation of party funds and criminal breach of trust tomorrow. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, July 21, 2021.

A FORMER minister will be charged by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) tomorrow, said a source.

The MACC source said the charge is in relation to the misappropriation of his party’s funds amounting to more that RM1 million.

The source said the former minister is expected to be charged under Sections 403 and 405 of the Penal Code for misappropriation of funds and criminal breach of trust.

“The individual is believed to have misappropriated party funds, which was estimated to be RM1.12 million while he was its youth chief,” said the source to The Malaysian Insight. – July 21, 2021.
