TWO days after declaring war against MIC, Malay right-wing group Perkasa turned its attention on another BN component party, MCA.
Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali today strongly condemned MCA’s plans to collaborate with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
“We are shocked to hear that MCA will have strategic cooperation with the CCP. We condemn their decision because it’s dangerous for the country,” he told a press conference.
Ibrahim was commenting on reports that MCA and CCP have agreed to cooperate in several education and cultural fields, including the exchange of research findings.
“We understand that Malaysia has government to government (ties) with China and there is a lot of their investment here.
“Even if they (China) have a free market economy but their beliefs still follow the communist ideology.” he said.
Ibrahim said he is worried that the communist ideology will spread to Malaysia, such as through education.
“They also want to have collaborations in education and other sectors. What if the communist ideology gets absorbed into the curriculum? This might give birth to cadets with communist ideologies,” he said.
Ali also questioned MCA’s agenda and said this will set a bad precedence for other political parties to follow.
He said, for example, that MIC might want to collaborate with the Sri Lankan Tamil Tigers following MCA’s friendly gestures towards CCP.
Ibrahim said he will be sending a letter to the police, Prime Minister Najib Razak, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the National Security Council next week to demand their stand on the MCA-CCP ties.
“I want the government to come clear of what is their stand on MCA’s collaboration with CCP as this a matter of safety and security,” he said.
Perkasa had earlier declared war against MIC when it directed its members to campaign against the BN component party.
They will start with the Segamat parliamentary seat, which is held by party president Dr S. Subramaniam, and other popular MIC seats like Cameron Highlands. – May 17, 2017.
