THE National Security Council has updated the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) for the areas that were previously subject to the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in the Klang Valley.
These areas will now follow phase 1 rules according to the national recovery plan.
Earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaacob announced that the EMCO will end in 34 sub districts in Selangor at midnight tonight.
Here are the updated rules you need to know:
People
1. Interstate and inter-district travel is still only allowed with police permission.
2. Two people per household are allowed to go out to purchase essential items.
3. Three people are allowed to travel in a car for medical purposes, including vaccination (the patient and two accompanying).
4. Travel is limited to a 10km radius from home, except for medical and vaccination purposes.
5. Only two people (driver and passenger) are allowed in Grab or a taxi.
6. Jogging and walking for exercise is allowed from 7am to 8pm in open spaces around the home with two to three metre social distancing.
7. Dining-in is not allowed.
Businesses
The following businesses are allowed to operate from 8am to 8pm unless specified:
1. Restaurants (6am to 10pm) for takeaway and deliveries only
2. Healthcare facilities, including vets.
3. Supermarkets, departmental stores, pharmacies, sundry shops and stationery shops - limited to essential goods.
4. Pharmacies
5. Morning markets (6am to 2pm), wholesale markets (midnight to 6am then 11am to 4pm).
6. Petrol stations (6am to 8pm except for those on highways with tolls).
7. Opticians.
8. Hardware stores.
9. Telecommunications customer service shops and dealers.
10. Laundromats, including self-service laundromats.
11. Car repair and service workshops, and accessory shops.
Social activities that are not allowed
1. Face to face meeting
2. Visitors to home, except for emergencies or deliveries
3. Busking
4. Meetings, conventions and exhibitions
5. Driving lessons
Businesses that remain closed (negative list)
1. Farmers market and night market
2. Spa, reflexology centre, massage parlours, wellness centres
3. Barbers and hairdressers
4. Car wash
5. Clothing, fashion and jewellery stores
6. Kindergartens, except for children whose parents/caretaker are both front-liners or in essential services
7. Sports and recreational facilities, except for public parks
8. Cinemas, nightclubs and pubs
9. Karaoke centres
10. Zoos and nature parks
Religious activities
1. Prayers at mosques and suraus are limited to 12 committee members. Other activities are not allowed.
2. Solemnisation for Muslims allowed at state religious department offices only.
3. Marriage registrations for non-Muslims allowed at the national registration department.
4. Non-Muslim houses of worship can hold activities limited to up to 12 committee members only and without any congregation members present.
5. Funerals according to guidelines by the state religious authorities (for Muslims) and the national unity ministry (for non-Muslims).
Manufacturing for essential products such as food, healthcare, medical, personal protective equipment will be allowed to operate at 60% capacity.
House repair and critical construction, such as roads and bridge maintenance, traffic light management control and repairs and inspections of lifts are allowed. β July 16, 2021.
