WALK-IN vaccinations for senior citizens above the age of 60 will begin tomorrow, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin said today.
However, According to Khairy, the co-ordinating minister for the national Covid-19 immunisation programme, the walk-in option is only available to people without a MySejahtera appointment.
“Starting tomorrow, senior citizens who have not received their MySejahtera appointments can walk into vaccination centres in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur for inoculation.
“I want to stress that the walk-in facility is only for those who have not received appointments via MySejahtera,” he said in a joint online press conference with Health Minister Dr Adham Baba in Putrajaya.
Khairy asked those with appointments in their MySejahtera not to show up at vaccination centres and create confusion.
“It is exclusively for people aged 60 and above, who do not have the MySejahtera app,” he said.
For those who walk in, Khairy said officers at the respective vaccination centres will take down their details as well as information on their next of kin to be updated for the second dose appointment.
Khairy also said walk-ins for everyone else will be opened after August 1.
