SARAWAKIANS can start eating out at their favourite restaurants, kopitiam, cafes and other eating places from tomorrow as the state lifted an extension of the dine-in ban today.
The Sarawak disaster management committee, after reviewing and improving the standard operating procedures, will now allow all food outlets statewide to have dine-ins.
One of the conditions for the food operators to comply with to enable them to have people eating in is that all their workers must have at least the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination.
The committee also told all economic sectors that are allowed to operate to always comply with the SOP.
It said it will not hesitate to shut them down if Covid-19 cases are detected in the workplace and hand them a hefty compound if the operators or employees are found to have failed in complying with the SOP.
The shutdown will be for 14 days and the disaster committee said all the costs of screening the workers and sanitising will be borne by the operators or owners of the premises. – July 15, 2021.
