6,387 new Covid-19 cases, Selangor still top contributor

Malaysia today recorded 6,387 new Covid-19 cases, the seventh consecutive day numbers have crossed the 6,000 mark. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Hasnoor Hussain, July 5, 2021.

MALAYSIA today recorded 6,387 new Covid-19 cases, with the daily numbers surpassing the 6,000 mark for the seventh day in a row.  

Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor continues to account for the bulk of the cases with 2,610 infections.  

This, he said, was followed by Kuala Lumpur with 819 cases and Negri Sembilan with 523 cases.   

The cases for other states are: Johor (324), Sabah (263), Sarawak (424), Malacca (206), Pahang (312), Penang (157), Perak (249), Labuan (71), Kedah (273), Kelantan (114), Terengganu (17) and Putrajaya (25).  

Perlis reported zero cases. 

The national caseload currently stands at 785,039. β€“ July 5, 2021.
