SEVENTEEN new Covid-19 clusters were detected in the past 24 hours, said director-general health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Eleven of these involved workplaces while five clusters originated from community transmissions and one came from a high-risk group.
Seven of the 11 workplace clusters involved factories.
The workplace clusters are:
1. Jalan Wira Lapan in Johor Baru, Johor (12 cases);
2. Industri Parit Jamil in Muar, Johor (127 cases);
3. Industri Parit Hulu in Muar, Johor (40 cases);
4. Jalan Perindustrian Agas 11 in Tangkak, Johor (104 cases);
5. Km22 Jalan Gambang in Kuantan, Pahang (11 cases);
6. Industri Bypass Gebeng in Kuantan, Pahang (52 cases);
7. Industri Jalan Bangi Lama in Hulu Lanagat, Selangor (79 cases);
8. Penagkalan Batu in Pasir Mas, Kelantan (9 cases);
9. Lorong Sungai Tiram in Barat Daya, Timur Laut, and Seberang Perai Utara in Penang (25 cases);
10. Bahtera Barat in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (18 cases); and
11. 35 Bintulu in Bintulu, Sarawak (21 cases).
The community clusters are:
1. Sungai Pelepak in Meradong, Sarawak (26 cases);
2. Sungai Entajum in Tatau, Sarawak (41 cases);
3. Kg Jeram Perdah in Pasir Mas, Kelantan (8 cases);
4. Lorong Empat Sekinchan in Sabak Bernam, Gombak and Hulu Selangor in Selangor (41 cases); and
5. Gong Pasir in Dungun, Terengganu (29 cases).
One cluster involving a high-risk group was detected in a healthcare facility in Johor. Called the Persiaran Kempas Jernih cluster in Johor Baru, it reported 14 cases.
There are currently 869 active clusters in the country. β July 4, 2021.
