6,241 new Covid-19 cases, Selangor continues to lead tally

THE country recorded a slight dip in Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, reporting 6,241 new infections.

Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the fresh cases take the national Covid-19 caseload to 616,815 cases.

Selangor continued to top the tally with 2,178 cases, followed by Sarawak (600) and Johor (565).

As for other states, there were 305 cases in Sabah, Penang (415), Penang (271), Kelatan (270), Negri Sembilan (556), Perak (174), Kedah (125), Malacca (224), Pahang (155), Terengganu (158) and Labuan (212).

Thirty cases were reported in Putrajaya, up from 12 yesterday, while Perlis reported two new cases.

As of yesterday, 1,128,738 individuals have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccines.

A total of 2,364,455 people have received the first dose, bringing the total number of doses administered in the country to 3,493,193. – June 6, 2021.
