Workplaces, community, religious centres among 17 new clusters

There are 17 new Covid-19 clusters in the country, bringing the total number of active clusters to 535. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Najjua Zulkefli, May 22, 2021.

THE Health Ministry today recorded 17 new Covid-19 clusters – seven workplaces, seven in the community, two at religious centres and one involving a high-risk group.

Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the clusters are located in Johor, Sabah, Selangor, Malacca, Negri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kelantan and Pahang.

He said that this brings the total number of clusters to 2,001 with 535 active groups nationwide. 

The workplace clusters are:

1. Jalan Cemerlang Empat in Kuala Langat, Selangor (16 cases);

2. Jalan Lama Setia Tujuh in Johor Baru, Johor (11);

3. Jalan Pantai Port Dickson in Negri Sembilan (30);

4. Industri Nibong Tebal in Penang (32);

5. Sungai Batu in Raub, Pahang (27);

6. Jalan Bypass Kuantan in Kuantan, Pahang (16); and

7. Industri Batu Berendam in Alor Gajah, Malacca (13).

The community clusters are:

1. Taman Kesang Indah in Malacca and Johor (26 cases);

2. Kepulau Tumpat in Pasir Mas, Kuantan (15);

3. Kampung Baldong Kecil in Pasir Mas (15);

4. Redong Satu in Segamat, Johor (20);

5. Abaha in Tawau, Sabah (38);

6. Indani in Semporna, Sabah (12); and

7. Melikai in Labuan, Sabah (17).

The religious centre clusters are:

1. Lembah Keramat in Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur (10 cases); and

2. Kampung Gau in Temerloh, Pahang (16).

The high-risk group cluster is Taman Sungai Jeloh in Hulu Langat, Selangor, with 18 cases. – May 22, 2021.
