SELANGOR executive councillor Borhan Aman Shah has admitted to violating Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) by hosting a gathering in his house during Hari Raya.

Borhan, who is Selangor’s agriculture, agro-based industry, and rural development committee chairman, apologised for his mistake and promised not to do it again.

“I would like to apologise to everyone over my mistake. I promise this will not happen again.

“I admit my mistake and take full responsibility on this matter,” he said in a statement on Facebook.

Borhan added that he has given his full cooperation to the authorities.

“On Thursday May 20, I gave my full cooperation to the officers in the Kuala Langat police headquarters who are investigating this issue.”

The Tg Sepat rep was previously photographed having a large gathering at his house on May 14.

As part of the Raya SOP, house-to-house visits were prohibited to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Selangor police chief Arjunadi Mohamad said Borhan is being investigated under Rule 17 of the amended Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act. – May 21, 2021.
