11 new Covid-19 clusters found

THE Health Ministry reported 11 new Covid-19 clusters today, four of which are linked to educational institutes.

Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said three of the four clusters are detected in Selangor and the other in Johor.

The education clusters are: Jalan Sungai Panjang in Sabak Bernam, Selangor (11 cases); Tanah Lesen in Sabak Bernam, Petaling and Klang, Selangor (13 cases); Gugusan Alam in Kuala Selangor, Selangor (27 cases); and Jalan Benut Kluang in Kluang, Johor (25 cases).

Tanah Lesen, Jalan Benut Kluang and Jalan Sungai Panjang are linked to schools.

Apart from these clusters, there are also three clusters linked to community transmissions.

These are Kampung Terusan in Kota Baru, Kelantan (40 cases); Jalan Abdul Hamid in Kinta, Perak (19 cases); and Kampung Boyan in Kuching, Sarawak (19 cases).

There are also two workplace clusters – Jalan Semabok, Malacca with 11 cases and Jalan Golf Belas in Petaling, Klang, Hulu Langat and Klang, Selangor with 23 cases.

Completing the list of clusters today are Jalan Menteri in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (9 cases) and Parit Lintang in Batu Pahat and Johor Baru (13 cases). Both clusters are linked to religious activities.
