THE Health Ministry (MOH) reported eight new Covid-19 clusters today, a big drop from the whopping 20 yesterday.
The director-general of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said five of the eight clusters were linked to workplaces.
The five workplace clusters were:
- Jalan Keretapi Lama in Kuala Selangor, Selangor (24 cases)
- Lima Jalan Kebun in Klang and Kuala Langat, Selangor (11 cases)
- Jalan Tropika Industri in Johor Bahru, Johor (14 cases)
- Jalan Suasa Industri in Johor Bahru, Johor (12 cases)
- Jalan Chain Ferry in Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Utara, Penang (14 cases)
The premises in which these clusters were detected were not stated.
In addition to the workplace clusters, there were also two clusters which stemmed from community transmissions on the list today.
These were Jalan Lilin in Miri and Lawas, Sarawak which saw 22 cases and Kongai Lapan in Tawau, Sabah which reported 11 cases.
Completing the list of clusters today, was the Tanjung Rimau cluster of 14 infections in Alor Gajah, Malacca, which was linked to religious activities.
Noor Hisham added that there are 457 active clusters in the country. β May 13, 2021.
