THE Health Ministry reported 12 new Covid-19 clusters, including one linked to religious activities, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
Apart from that, the director-general of health also reported four linked to education and another four community groupings.
The Leboh Gambus cluster in Klang, Selangor, which was the sole cluster linked to religious activities, reported 61 cases.
As for the education clusters – Melugu in Sarawak and Madai in Sabah – detected at public education institutions, reported 13 and 30 cases respectively.
Layar Hujung in Kuala Muda, Kedah (23 cases) and Gombak Dua, which saw cases spread across state lines in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya (19 ) rounded off the list of education clusters reported today.
All four of the clusters, classified as community transmissions, were traced to symptomatic index patients.
These are Ulu Strass in Sarawak (25 cases); Jalan Maharajalela in Perak, Kuala Lumpur and Kedah (12); Taman Wira in Johor (26) and Pintu Air Relau in Kedah (31).
Health authorities also reported two workplace clusters today, namely Jalan Rimbunan in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (22 cases) and Jalan Bakariah in Johor.
Jalan Rimbunan is linked to a service company whereas Jalan Bakariah involves a plantation company.
Completing the list of clusters today, was Jalan Sekinchan in Selangor. The cluster of 23 cases was detected at an old folks’ home.
Noor Hisham also declared nine clusters inactive.
With this, the number of active clusters in the country now stood at 370. – April 28, 2021.
