MALAYSIA reported 2,733 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the national caseload closer to the 400,000 mark.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the fresh cases have taken the country’s caseload to 398,451.
Selangor once again topped the daily tally with 750 cases, followed by Kelantan and Sarawak with 484 and 432 cases respectively.
Active cases continued on an uptrend, rising to 25,414 from yesterday’s 24,713.
Only five of today’s cases were imported while the rest were from local transmission.
On recoveries, Noor Hisham said 2,019 people had recovered from Covid-19, taking the cumulative total of recoveries to 371,575.
The country also reported 13 fatalities, raising the death toll to 1,462.
Meanwhile, 294 patients are being given intensive care treatment at hospitals, of whom 138 are placed under respiratory support. – April 27, 2021.
