7 of 10 new Covid-19 clusters at workplaces

THE Health Ministry today reported 10 new Covid-19 clusters, of which seven were linked to workplaces involving factories and companies.

Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor and Perak reported two workplace clusters each.

The Jalan Abdul Karim cluster in Klang and Jalan Melor in Hulu Selangor reported 11 and seven cases respectively.

As for the two workplace clusters in Perak – the Ipoh Lumut and Jalan Datoh clusters, both in Kinta, reported 17 and 12 cases respectively.

The other workplace clusters were Tingkat Mak Mandin in Butterworth, Penang (13 cases), D’Lahar in Besut, Terengganu (40 cases) and Desa Mawar (9 cases) in Rompin, Pahang.

There were also two community clusters today, namely Kolam Dua (8 cases) in Perak and Dambai Inanam (19 cases) in Sabah.

The sole educational institution cluster reported today was Jalan St Thomas in Kuala Lumpur, which has 11 cases spread across Kepong, Cheras and Titiwangsa.

Noor Hisham said 12 other clusters have become inactive, leaving the number of active clusters in the country at 352. – April 24, 2021.
