Terengganu Ramadan bazaar ordered to close over non-compliance with SOP

THE Tok Adis Ramadan bazaar, near Kuala Ibai, was shut down for 14 days until April 30 over failure to  comply with the standard operating procedures to curb the spread of COVID-19. 

Terengganu health director Dr Nor Azimi Yunus said the order notice was issued to enable the bazaar organiser to take steps to ensure the traders and customers obeyed health and safety guidelines.

“It is the first Ramadan bazaar ordered to close in Terengganu for failing to comply with the SOP, she said when contacted by Bernama today.

Among the rules that must be obeyed are the taking of body temperature, MySejahtera check-in, and masking. Admission to the bazaar is restricted to people aged 13 and older,

Sixty-nine bazaars with a total 4,326 stalls are allowed to open during Ramadan in Terengganu. Kuala Terengganu has 22 of them, Kemaman (19), Besut (10), Setiu (six), Dungun (five), Marang (five) and Hulu Terengganu (two). – Bernama, April 17, 2021.
