THE Ministry of Health reported seven new Covid-19 clusters today, one of which was linked to a wedding in Sarawak.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said the ministry was considering 13 clusters now inactive, with 357 clusters still reporting new cases.
There were four community transmission clusters reported today, while the remaining three were linked to workplaces.
The largest grouping was the Kg Binyu wedding cluster in Kuching with 68 cases reported.
Meanwhile, the 29-case Jalan Merdeka cluster in Johor, Simpang Tiga Merontai cluster in Sabah (10 cases) and Jalan Kenanga cluster in Malacca (11 cases) were all linked to symptomatic index cases.
For the workplace clusters, the Jalan Bandar Sembilan cluster in Selangor and Technology Peramu Jaya in Pahang reported 21 and 36 cases respectively. Both these clusters were linked to factories.
The Kubota Sentral cluster of nine cases, which was detected in a business outlet in Tawau, Sabah, completed the ministry’s list as the third workplace cluster reported today.
Noor Hisham said the following clusters were now inactive: Merotai Besar, Jengka Tujuh, Jalan Perindustrian Elektronik, Perindustrian Pelepas, Jalan Bukit Sentosa, Jalan Aman, l Persiaran Kuala, Tapak Bina Muda, Jalan Mutiara Barat, Jalan Tanjung Empat, Industri 19, Lagoon Selatan, and Tapak Bina Pantai Dalam. – April 3, 2021.
