MALAYSIA logged 1,482 new Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours, with Selangor accounting for a bulk of these cases.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the fresh cases bring the national caseload to 345,500.
Selangor topped the daily tally with 661 cases, followed by Penang with 200 cases.
All other states saw either a double-digit or single-digit growth in new daily cases.
Only two of today’s cases were imported.
Meanwhile, active cases rose to 14,604 from 14,119 yesterday.
On recoveries, Noor Hisham said 1,070 people have recuperated from the coronavirus.
With this, the total number of recoveries now stands at 329,624.
Seven fatalities were also reported, taking the death toll to 1,272.
A total 164 people are currently warded in the intensive care unit, 81 of whom require respiratory support. – March 31, 2021.
