MALAYSIA will begin the second phase of the national Covid-19 vaccination drive on April 19, said Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin.
The second phase will entail high risk groups such as senior citizens, those with pre-existing health conditions and disabled people.
Khairy, the co-ordinating minister for the drive, said those who have registered will be notified on their appointments via the MySejahtera application, SMS or phone call on April 5.
Recipients will be notified of their appointment dates two weeks in advance.
Khairy added that those in the high-risk group will be given priority even if they register late.
He also urged those registering via MySejahtera to be truthful when providing information and not furnish false facts for the sake of getting vaccinated fast.
They could be turned away at vaccination points if the information furnished was false, he added.
As of March 28, 530,158 vaccination appointments have been given out. The number of registrations, meanwhile, stands at 7.23 million. β March 29, 2021.
