UMNO will not to cooperate with Bersatu, Anwar Ibrahim or DAP in the next elections, said Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“We will stick to the decision of the Supreme Council of no Bersatu, Anwar or DAP,” said the Umno president in his policy speech at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) on the second and final day of the 2020 Umno general assembly.

“There have been no discussions made with any of the parties, either formally or informally.

“Moreover, we will contest under the Barisan Nasional banner and the ‘dacing’ logo,” said Zahid.

“BN has decided to face GE15 alone,” said the Bagan Datuk MP to loud cheers from the delegates.

He added that in order for Barisan Nasional (BN) to claim dominance in the GE15, they must win the majority of parliamentary seats.

“BN needs to determine who would be a truly sincere and honest party to form a government with us.”

He added that dominance was not equivalent to arrogance.

Also present during the speech were leaders from BN component parties, including MCA President Wee Ka Siong, MIC President S.A. Vigneswaran, PBRS Deputy President Arthur Joseph Kurup, as well as PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang.

Zahid also slammed the Bersatu-led Perikatan Nasional government for neglecting the interests of the race, religion and royalty.

He said that in the past 22 months, Malay rulers had been insulted and Malay interests had been neglected.

“Islam has been challenged, the national language Bahasa Melayu was belittled and state assets were auctioned off.

“We reject defectors and traitors. We don’t want pests destroying the party.”

He also said the voters and people felt betrayed by these.

“Wake up, politics is determined by a cluster of people.

“Not by a power-hungry cluster or an opportunist cluster. Open your mind and think two or three steps ahead, for the future of our grandchildren.” – March 28, 2021.
