MALAYSIA reported 1,275 new Covid-19 infections today, with Selangor once again topping the daily tally.
Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement today that the fresh cases have brought the country’s caseload to 339,443, of which 14,269 cases are currently active.
Selangor led the daily tally with 478 cases, followed by Sarawak and Penang with 213 and 137 cases, respectively.
Noor Hisham said only 32 of today’s cases were imported while the remaining 1,243 stemmed from local transmissions.
Covid-19 recoveries continued to outnumber the new cases as 1,509 people were discharged.
With this, the total number of recoveries from Covid-19 now stands at 323,925.
The country also saw one fatality, which raised the national death toll to 1,249
Meanwhile, of the active cases, 161 patients are currently warded at Intensive Care Units, 70 of whom require respiratory support. – March 26, 2021.
