ACTIVE cases fell to 20,330 today, after recoveries continued to outnumber new Covid-19 cases.
The downtrend in active cases have been noted since February 10.
Since then, the cases have steadily declined from 52,186 cases to 20,330.
Recoveries continued to outnumber new Covid-19 cases after 2,506 people recuperated from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total number of recoveries from the virus now stood at 291,958.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 1,683 new cases were reported as of 12 pm today, of which only ten were imported.
The fresh cases have brought the caseload to 313,460.
Selangor topped the daily tally with 746 cases followed by Sabah and Penang with 201 and 172 cases respectively.
Putrajaya, Labuan and Malacca recorded single digit growth in new cases.
Meanwhile, three new deaths were also reported, bringing the death toll to 1,169.
Noor Hisham said 174 patients are currently warded at the Intensive Care Unit, 81 of whom require respiratory support. β March 7, 2021.
