Covid-19 recoveries continue to surpass new infections for fifth day

The number of Covid-19 recoveries continue to surpass the number of new cases for the fifth-straight day. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Afif Abd Halim, March 5, 2021.

THE number of Covid-19 recoveries greatly outnumbered the new infections reported in the last 24 hours, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement.

There were 3,275 recoveries compared to 2,154 new cases.

This takes total recoveries to 286,904. The national caseload now stands at 310,097.

Six people died from the virus today, taking the death toll to 1,159.

Noor Hisham said Selangor reported the most cases today with 794, followed by Johor (463) and Sarawak (259).

There are currently 22,034 active cases in the country, 184 of them in intensive care and 87 of them on ventilators. – March 5, 2021.
