More recoveries than new virus cases for 4th straight day

THERE were 2,063 new coronavirus cases and 2,922 recoveries over a period of 24 hours, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The director-general of health said this was the fourth day in a row the number of patients discharged from hospital have outnumbered new cases.

He said there have been 283,629 recoveries so far against a national caseload of 307,943.

Noor Hisham said five deaths were recorded today, taking the death toll to 1,153.

He said Selangor reported the most cases with a new daily high of 630 cases, followed by Sarawak (361) and Penang (337)

He said there are currently 23,161 active cases, 193 of them in intensive care, 99 of them on ventilators. – March 4, 2021.
