EIGHT new Covid-19 clusters have been reported today while 16 have ended, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Noor Hisham said, with this, the number of active clusters in the country is now at 485.
The 16 clusters which were declared inactive following the end of the surveillance period were Symphony Magazine, Hujung Pasir, Serkam Tengah, Rungkup, Jalan Skudai, Orion, Bayu Tampoi, Permint Harmoni, Tengah Tiga, Jalan Ketengah, Persiaran Tecoma construction site, Jalan Trompet, Jalan Sempadan, Era Duta construction site, Jalan Riang, and Bukit Batu Grisek.
All but one of eight Covid-19 clusters reported today were linked to workplaces.
The Buloh cluster in Selangau, Sarawak was the sole non-workplace cluster reported today.
The cluster, which was classified as a community transmission and traced to a symptomatic index case, reported 28 cases.
Six of the workplace clusters reported today were linked to factories while one was discovered at a public administration office.
Johor reported five clusters namely Jalan Scientex Jaya (13 cases), Jalan Mega Teknologi (14), Jalan Permas Sembilan (20), Jalan Gemilang Satu (15) and Jalan Tampoi Besi (40).
Meanwhile, the Jalan Tasek Avenue cluster linked to a factory in Ipoh, Perak saw the most number of cases at 211.
The Kg Pulau Raja which was discovered at a public administration office in Kota Baru, Kelantan saw 60 cases. β February 27, 2021.
