ACTIVE cases continued on a downtrend as daily Covid-19 recoveries once again outnumbered new cases, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The Health Director-General said there were 30,475 active cases as of 12pm today, down from the 32,076 reported a day earlier.
He said recoveries continued to outnumber new Covid-19 cases after 4,055 people were discharged in the last 24 hours.
He said the number of recoveries from the virus now stood at 256,678.
Noor Hisham said there were 2,468 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
He said the fresh cases have brought the caseload to 288,229.
He said Selangor topped the daily tally with 932 cases followed by Johor and Perak with 428 and 308 cases respectively.
Putrajaya, Labuan, Terengganu recorded single digit growth in new cases, while Perlis was the only state to not report a new infection.
Meanwhile, Noor Hisham said 14 new deaths were also reported, bringing the death toll to 1,076.
Noor Hisham said 196 patients are currently warded at the Intensive Care Unit, of whom 92 require respiratory support. – February 23, 2021.
