ONLY three of the 13 new Covid-19 clusters reported today were not linked to workplaces.
Workplace clusters continued to make up the bulk of new clusters reported daily.
Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said eight clusters had ceased to be active, bringing the total of clusters under surveillance to 489.
He said the Jalan Cheras cluster in Selangor, Pengkalan Teras in Terengganu, Tembok Tapah detention centre cluster in Perak were the three non-workplace cluster reported today.
He said tJalan Cheras cluster of 24 infections was discovered at a care home in Jalan Cheras, Kajang.
He said Pengkalan Teras stemmed from community transmission of 29 cases.
The Tembok Tapah detention centre cluster reported 64 cases.
Noor Hisham said Selangor reported four more clusters, all of which were linked to workplaces.
He said the four other clusters are Jalan Bursa (22), Jalan Kepong (23), Jalan Tiga Belas (11) and Jalan Tropicana (25).
Noor Hisham said Penang reported two workplace clusters – Tapak Persiaran Mutiara (22 cases) and Jalan Baru (14).
He said the second cluster reported in Terengganu today was Guntong Dalam which registered 43 cases.
He said Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Johor reported a cluster each. – February 15, 2021.
