THE number of people recovering from Covid-19 outnumbered the new cases for the second day in a row today, reported director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said 4,521 people recovered from the coronavirus within the past 24 hours - the second highest such total after the 4,524 yesterday – with 2,176 new cases during the same period.
The new figures mean that 218,335 have recovered from the virus, while the total cumulative caseload is now 266,445, with 47,135 active cases.
Only one of today’s cases was imported, Noor Hisham said.
Selangor once again led the daily tally by state with 910 cases, followed by Johor and Sarawak with 269 and 246 cases respectively.
Ten deaths were reported today, raising the national death toll to 975.
Meanwhile, 260 patients are currently in intensive care, of whom 112 require respiratory support. – February 15, 2021.
