THE Malaysian Football League (MFL), Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) and the Sepak Takraw League (STL) will be allowed to conduct centralised training programmes for their teams next week.

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that after conducting risk assessments with various agencies in the MCO technical committee, the government has allowed for training to start on February 15.

“The training areas and movement of athletes or players must be controlled.

“They must also follow the standard operating procedure on ‘camp quarantine’ and ‘home quarantine’ that has been set,” he said at a press conference in Putrajaya today.

He added that the Youth and Sports Ministry has also presented proposals for the opening of several other sports activities.

“These are individual and non-contact sports for the purpose of physical fitness and to improve the standard of personal health.

“The government is still discussing the issue and it will be announced soon.”

Ismail Sabri added that the creative industry will be allowed to operate again.

“Animation, music production, post-production in studio, digital music development, recording in studio and pre-production illustration will be allowed.

“This includes filming in the studio for dramas, telemovies, commercials, documentaries, sitcoms, live-streaming, cultural recordings, art and heritage without an audience.” – February 9, 2021.
