THE Health Ministry recorded 12 new clusters in the past 24 hours with those relating to workplaces drawing the highest number at 11, said Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He said the remaining cluster involved a high-risk group. 

Noor Hisham said the new clusters are located in Selangor, Johor, Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Terengganu, with a total of 373 positive cases.

The total number of active clusters are 888 and out of that 441 had reported an increase in cases in the past 24 hours.

Clusters with the highest number of new cases today are the Serkam Industry cluster (257 cases), Kampung Baru Industry cluster (167 cases), and Mayang Pasir cluster (102 cases).

The 11 workplace clusters reported today are:

1. The Industri Kampung cluster was the result of targeted screening of three factories located in Kampung Baru, Sungai Buloh, where 167 people were infected.

2. The Jalan Banting Klang cluster was the result of targeted screening of a factory in Jalan Banting-Klang, Telok Panglima Garang Industrial Estate, Kuala Langat where 13 cases were detected.

3. The Gudang Salak Tinggi clusters was the result of targeted screening by a service company in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, Sepang where 42 cases are postive.

4. The Jalan Kuala Selangor cluster was the result of close contact screening in a school in Kampung Tanjong Karang, Jalan Kuala Selangor-Teluk Intan, Kuala Selangor where 11 cases were detected.

5. The Lingkaran Cyber cluster was the result of targeted screening of a supermarket located at the Cyber Point East Ring, Cyberjaya, Sepang where there are 24 cases.

6. The Jalan Chester cluster was the result of symptomatic individual screening that involves employees of a gold shop located at Jalan Chester, Tawau where 10 cases were detected  

7. The Tapak Bina Sg Besi cluster was the result of targeted screening of a construction site in Jalan Sungai Besi where there are 12 cases.

8. The Jalan Tun Mutalib cluster was the result of screening before returning to the country of origin that involves the workers of a factory located at Jalan Tun Mutalib, Bandar Tenggara, Kota Tinggi where six cases were positive.

9. The Jalan Istimewa Tujuh cluster was the result of symptomatic individual screening that involves the workers of a factory located at Jalan Istimewa, Taman Perindustrian Cemerlang, Ulu Tiram, Johor Bahru where 29 cases were detected.

10. The Jalan Bayu Satu cluster was the result of targeted screening of a factory located at Jalan Bayu Satu, Bandar Seri Alam, Masai where 18 cases are positive.

11.  The Gong Nering cluster was the result of symptomatic individual screening that involves employees of a service company located in Kampung Gong Nering, Besut where 26 were detected positive.

This high-risk group cluster involves Besut district in Terengganu as the result of symptomatic individual screening where 42 people are positive. – February 6, 2021.
