HEALTH authorities reported 12 new Covid-19 clusters today, of which seven were linked to workplaces.
Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, with this, the total number of active clusters of infection in the country now stood at 335.
Noor Hisham said the cluster that contributed the highest number of cases today – 106 – was the Selasih Perindu cluster in the Senai Jaya industrial park in Kulai, Johor.
In addition to Selasih Perindu, Johor reported three more workplace clusters, namely, Jalan Perwira (43 cases), Jalan Skudai (18 cases) and Indah Gemilang (13 cases).
Other workplace clusters reported today are Jalan Sungai Chandong (44 cases) in Selangor, Desa Jerocco Plantation (38 cases), Paya Siput (10 cases) and Jalan Kinabenua in Labuan (8cases).
The Serkam Tengah cluster in Malacca and Tanjung Lumpur in Pahang, on the other hand, was traced to community transmission.
Serkam Tengah reported 31 cases while Tanjung Lumpur saw 11 cases.
Meanwhile, there were two clusters which involved high risk groups.
The Tanjung Lumpur cluster in Kuantan reported 11 cases while Jalan Skudai in Johor reported 18 cases.
The Tembok Renggam detention cluster in Kluang reported 31 cases. – January 22, 2021.
