ELEVEN new Covid-19 clusters were recorded today, bringing the total number of active clusters to 270, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He said the 11 new clusters are located in Selangor, Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Kelantan, Negri Sembilan and Malacca, adding that 498 cases were recorded at these clusters.
Out of the total number of active clusters, 71 had reported an increase in cases today.
The clusters that reported the highest number of new cases were Tembok Choh in Johor (161), Tembok Mempaga in Pahang (110) and Jalan Rami in Johor (109).
The Taman Integrasi cluster involves the Gombak district in Selangor.
Cases for this cluster were reported starting January 10 as a result of targeted screening in a factory.
The name of the cluster refers to the locality of the factory workers’ dormitory located in Rawang Integrated Industrial Park.
As of January 13, a total of 250 individuals have been screened, with 119 positive.
The Jalan Ijuk workplace cluster involves the districts of Petaling, Kuala Langat, Sepang, Klang and Hulu Langat in Selangor.
Cases for this cluster were reported positive starting January 10 as a result of targeted screening in a factory.
The name of the cluster refers to the locality of the factory located at Jalan Ijuk 26/5, Hicom Industrial Estate, Shah Alam.
Until January 13 a total of 262 individuals were screened, with 99 positive.
The Jalan Rami workplace cluster involves Muar district in Johor.
The index case for this cluster was reported positive on January 9 as a result of screening before returning to the country of origin.
Subsequent screening in the index case workplace found as many as 111 testing positive.
The name of this cluster refers to the locality of the factory located at Jalan Rami 4, Bukit Pasir Industrial Estate, Muar, Johor.
As of today, a total of 241 individuals have been screened, with 112 positive.
The Kota cluster involves the district of Kota Tinggi in Johor.
The index case for this cluster was reported positive on December 30 as a result of symptomatic individual screening.
The name of the cluster refers to the locality where the cases are reported, in Kg Teluk Jeri, Tg Sedili, Kota Tinggi.
As of today, a total of 397 individuals have been screened, with 57 positive.
The Tg Megah workplace cluster involves the Pontian district in Johor.
The index case for this cluster tested positive on January 9 as a result of close contact screening.
The name of the cluster refers to the combination of the name of the workplace and the place of residence of the index case, namely in Taman Megah, Pontian, Johor.
As of today, a total of 183 individuals have been screened, with 12 positive.
The Jalan Kasturi workplace cluster involves Lembah Pantai and Kepong districts in Kuala Lumpur.
Cases for this cluster have been reported starting Monday as a result of targeted screening at a security company.
The name of the cluster refers to the locality where the cases reported, on Jalan Hang Kasturi.
As of today, a total of 61 individuals have been screened, with 16 positive.
The Jalan Thamby workplace cluster involves the Lembah Pantai district in Kuala Lumpur.
Cases for this cluster have been reported starting January 5 as a result of targeted screening at a security company.
The name of this cluster refers to the address of the residence of the cases detected positive at Jalan Thamby Abdullah, off Jalan Sambathan, Brickfields.
As of today, a total of 45 individuals have been screened, with 23 positive.
The Taman Batik workplace cluster involves the districts of Kuala Muda and Baling in Kedah.
The index case for this cluster was reported positive on January 10 as a result of symptomatic individual screening.
The name of the cluster refers to the locality where the cases in this cluster are reported, in a supermarket located in Taman Batik, Sg Petani.
As of today, a total of 11 individuals have been screened, with nine positive.
The Bukit Bakar cluster involves the Machang district in Kelantan.
The index case for this cluster was reported positive January 1 as a result of symptomatic individual screening.
The name of the cluster refers to the residential address of the index case house in Kg Padang Malar, Bukit Bakar, Machang.
As of today, a total of 154 individuals have been screened, with 18 positive.
The Kg Tengah cluster involves a wedding ceremony held in the Seremban district in Negri Sembilan.
The index case for this cluster was reported positive January 7 as a result of symptomatic individual screening.
The name of the cluster refers to the location of the event, in Kg Tengah, Mantin Dalam, Mantin, Seremban.
As of today, a total of 130 individuals have been screened, with 20 positive.
The Dialisis Malim cluster involves the districts of Malacca Tengah and Alor Gajah in Malacca.
The index case for this cluster was reported positive on January 8 as a result of symptomatic individual screening.
The name of the cluster refers to the locality where the cases in this cluster are reported, namely at a dialysis centre located at Jalan Malim, Balai Panjang, Melaka.
As of today, 13 a total of 75 individuals have been screened, with 13 positive. – January 13, 2021.
