FAMILY karaoke centres are allowed to operate only in green zones, while karaoke entertainment and nightclub activities remain barred, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob. 

“Like wedding ceremonies, karaoke is allowed but only in green zones. 

“But karaoke entertainment outlets and nightclubs are still not allowed to operate,” he said at a press conference in Putrajaya today.  

Ismail Sabri was responding to a question on whether karaoke entertainment can restart, with Sarawak allowing private karaoke rooms to open. 

The senior minister said Putrajaya was not aware about the karaoke situation in Sarawak. 

“What is happening in Sarawak is beyond our knowledge. 

“But, I will discuss with the state government and inform them of the standard operating procedure for entertainment outlets.” – December 24, 2020.
