The Health Ministry is concerned over the spread of the coronavirus infections within communities in Selangor as the state continues to top the daily Covid-19 tally.
“We are worried the infection has spread to the community,” Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in the ministry’s weekly press briefing today.
The director-general of health said the ministry had projected for cases to rise given the high population density in the state and the movement of residents.
Selangor recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases for the eighth day in a row today after logging 535 cases in the past 24 hours.
Noor Hisham also reminded Selangor folk to continue to comply with the standard operating procedure, as that will serve as a vaccine to prevent infections.
On the ministry’s part, it will step up screening activities to detect cases in the community.
Selangor has so far recorded 27,218 cases while Sabah is still leading with a caseload of 35,166. – December 23, 2020.
