Malaysia reports 87,913 Covid-19 cases

MALAYSIA today reported 87,913 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic broke, as director-general of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah informed reporters of another 1,295 cases today.

Noor Hisham Abdullah said 1,295 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, adding that the bulk of infections had come from Selangor (481 cases), Sabah (268) and Kuala Lumpur (232).

“Of the total number of cases in Selangor, 356 cases were from active clusters and close contact screenings,” he said during a press conference in Putrajaya today.

He said today there were 1,052 recoveries, bringing the cumulative total to 72,733 patients, with 14,751 active cases. 

Noor Hisham added that there are 113 people in intensive care, of which 53 require respiratory assistance. – December 16, 2020.
