DAP chairman Tan Kok Wai today apologised to Annuar Musa and retracted his statement linking the Federal Territories minister to the sale of land belonging to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

“I received a surprise visit from DAP National Chairman YB Tan Kok Wai  (Cheras MP) at my office a short while ago. He handed over a letter of apology and retracted the defamatory statement made against me on November 18,” Annuar tweeted.

“Thank you. I will refer to my lawyer.”

Annuar had previously said he would take legal action against Tan for alleging that 42 plots of land owned by DBKL had been sold e since Annuar became the FT minister.

Annuar had said that the FT Ministry had not received any application from DBKL to sell land or other assets  under its purview.

Meanwhile, Tan told The Malaysian Insight that he has apologised for the error on his part.

“I have decided to retract my statement and apologise to him. Rightfully, I should act gentlemanly by admitting that what I commented was factually incorrect,” he said.

“This is an error I committed and it is only fair to him that I bear responsibility for that error and I said sorry to him,” he added. – December 7, 2020.
