PARTI Warisan Sabah today lodged a complaint with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against the Sabah Urban Development Corporation (SUDC) over the sale of a 96.3ha plot of prime land in Kinarut, Sabah.
Its vice-president, Junz Wong, filed the complaint at the MACC office in Putrajaya, today, following his call to Deputy Chief Minister Raymond Tan to clarify the land sale.
Tan, who is also the Sabah infrastructure development minister, is the minister in charge of the SUDC.
Wong said the land was sold below market price at RM13.1 million to a company linked to the Sabah Water Department graft scandal.
He had said the value of the land should be around RM150 million, based on the present market price.
On November 22, Tan had promised to provide details on the land sale to Wong during the state assembly sitting, but later changed his mind after Wong approached the media.
Tan said on December 12 that Wong’s motive was political and not aimed at uncovering the truth.
He had rubbished Wong’s claim that the land was sold to the company but was supposed to be jointly developed with SUDC.
SUDC managing director Haizar Ajaz had told the Borneo Post that SUDC entered into the joint venture with the company in 2014.
The development involved the construction of 1,500 units of terrace houses and 32 shophouse units with a gross development value of RM453 million.
“Provided in the venture agreement was SUDC’s share of 20% from the affordable housing development profit,” Haizar had said. β December 22, 2017.
