MALAYSIA today reported 1,335 new Covid-19 cases, the bulk of which were from the Klang Valley.
The Klang Valley collectively registered 515 cases. By state Selangor logged the highest number of cases at 337, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement.
This was followed by Negri Sembilan and Sabah with 258 and 250 cases, respectively.
Prison and detention clusters, on the other hand, contributed 243.
Only three of today’s cases were imported.
The fresh cases today raise the national toll of infections to 72,694. Currently, 11,039 are active.
The death toll also increased to 382, after Johor and Perak each reported one fatality.
On recoveries, 1,069 people were discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total number of recoveries from the coronavirus now stands at 61,273 cases.
Health authorities also discovered three new clusters of infection.
Meanwhile, 126 patients are currently warded in the intensive care unit, of whom 57 require respiratory support. – December 6, 2020.
