Klang Valley accounts for half of 1,141 new Covid-19 cases

The Klang Valley accounted for about half of today's 1,141 new Covid-19 infections, with Selangor and Kuala Lumpur reporting 578 cases together. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Hasnoor Hussain, December 4, 2020.

MALAYSIA today reported 1,141 new Covid-19 infections, with about half of them being recorded in the Klang Valley, which has 578 cases.

Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press conference that the fresh cases brought the national tally to 70,236 while active cases stood at 10,799.

He said recoveries outnumbered the new cases after 1,144 people were discharged from hospital after recovering from the coronavirus.

There were no deaths reported today, keeping the death toll at 376.

Both Sabah and Selangor logged 328 cases respectively, taking the lead in terms of states with the most number of cases.

This was followed by Kuala Lumpur with 256 cases.

Prison and detention clusters on the other hand, contributed 32 cases.

Only three of today’s cases were imported.

The total number of recoveries from the coronavirus now stands at 59,061.

Health authorities also discovered eight new clusters of infection.

Meanwhile, 129 patients are currently warded in the intensive care unit, of whom 59 require respiratory support. – December 4, 2020.

  • Where is our health minister on this rising cases in the Klang Valley which is also the nation capital. What are the causes, what rectification action, what follow up actions, what are you doing to bring the cases down??? How did we end up this way??? Or are you busy in splitting the MOH contracts to your kind of people??? Jangan makan gaji buta la, malu la sikit.
