5 new Covid-19 clusters in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor

FIVE new Covid-19 clusters were recorded today, making the number of active clusters nationwide 183, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The new clusters in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Johor, and contribute 85 cases to the daily tally.

Four are in the Klang Valley and one in Johor, and raise the country’s total number of clusters to 369 since the onset of the pandemic.

The Desa Pinang cluster is in Kuala Lumpur, where 120 people have been screened to date and 25 cases found positive for the virus.

The Jernai and Wangsa clusters, also in Kuala Lumpur, currently have 13 and eight cases, respectively.

The Impian cluster in Selangor has seen 220 people screened so far, with nine found positive.

The Baloi cluster in Johor has 30 cases out of 166 people screened.

The Health Ministry’s statement on the new clusters does not mention where or how the index cases of these clusters might have contracted the virus.

Of all the active clusters, 44 have witnessed an increase in cases.

“The clusters that reported the highest number of new cases today were the Batu Tujuh cluster (51 cases), Beringin cluster (36 cases), and Kaya cluster (33 cases),” he said at a press conference in Putrajaya today. – December 2, 2020.
