SELANGOR accounted for more than half of the 1,096 Covid-19 infections reported today, with 603 cases.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the national tally of infection is now 54,775, of which 12,843 people are still being treated.
Sabah reported the second highest number of daily infections, at 311 infections, followed by Perak at 55.
Only six of today’s infections were imported.
Three people died of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, all of them in Sabah.
This has brought the national death toll to 335.
Health authorities also discovered three new clusters of infection.
Other states or jurisdictions that reported new cases were Kuala Lumpur (30), Negri Sembilan (29), Johor (9), Kelantan (8), Perlis (1), Penang (15), Labuan (13), Kedah (16), Putrajaya (1) and Malacca (5).
The number of recoveries edged out new infections in the past 24hours, with 1,104 patients discharged from hospital.
The number of recoveries now stands at 41,597.
Meanwhile, 106 patients are in intensive care, of whom 46 need respiratory support. – November 22, 2020.
