THE Health Ministry today reported four new Covid-19 clusters, bringing the total number of active clusters in the country to 165.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the Kapas BJ cluster that contributed to a significant number of cases in Selangor, was discovered after a factory worker tested positive for Covid-19 on November 18.
The cluster has so far reported 76 cases.
Meanwhile, 20 cases were detected from the Prestij cluster in Kuala Lumpur.
“This cluster involves workers of a cleaning company in Lembah Pantai and Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur,” he said in a statement.
In Perak, health authorities detected the Bah Bercham cluster, which stemmed from an individual who recently travelled to Sabah.
Five infections were found in this cluster and all of them are currently being treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh.
The fourth new cluster – Kiambang – had nine infections in Mersing, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru, after the symptomatic index patient tested positive for Covid-19.
Further screening led to the discovery of nine more cases. All 10 patients are being treated at the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Johor. – November 19, 2020.
