KEPONG MP Lim Lip Eng was expelled from today’s Dewan Rakyat sitting and suspended for five days for disobeying the speaker and calling his deputy’s actions “stupid.”

Lim urged Speaker Azhar Azizan Harun to order Barisan Nasional’s Bintulu MP Tiong King Sing to retract his derogatory remarks about director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Lim said it was “stupid” of Deputy Speaker Azalina Othman Said not to have asked Tiong to retract his remark yesterday.
That sparked an uproar in the house as backbenchers demanded that Lim retract and apologise for the statement.
Azhar also told off the DAP rep, who responded with the accusation that Azhar was conspiring with Tiong to insult the frontliners.
Azhar told Lim to get out of the Dewan Rakyat.
When Lim refused to leave, Azhar called the police to escort the lawmaker out.
“Your Berhormat, please leave and I will suspend you for another five days,” he said.
Yesterday, another DAP MP was also booted from chambers while defending the health D-G against Tiong’s insults.
Azalina had expelled RSN Rayer who had refused to stand down after Tiong accused Noor Hisham of failing to boost the morale of frontliners in Sabah.
While debating the budget, Tiong has claimed that Noor Hisham had not visited Covid-19 red zones such as Sabah because “the director-general of health is afraid to die”. – November 12, 2020.
