MALAYSIA saw a record high number of Covid-19 recoveries today, after 1,000 people were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours.
With this, total recoveries now stand at 21,248.
There were also no new Covid-19 clusters identified.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in his daily presser today that 659 new infections were reported in the past 24 hours, of which only one was imported.
Sabah continues to account for the bulk of the new infections with 529 cases.
“The ministry would like to inform that no new clusters were detected today, with the active cluster count remaining at 133.
“The number of clusters that have ended is 114,” he said.
The new daily cases bring the national caseload to 31,548, while active cases stand at 10,051.
Eighty-three patients are currently warded at in intensive care units, of whom 19 require breathing assistance.
No new deaths were reported today, keeping the death toll at 249.
The Klang Valley reported 70 cases while the prison clusters contributed 137 cases
Labuan (12), Penang (2), Terengganu (2), Kelantan (1), Pahang (1), Negri Sembilan (23), Kedah (2), Perak (6), Sarawak (9) and Putrajaya (4) were among the states which reported new cases. – October 31, 2020.
