MALAYSIA today reported its highest Covid-19 recoveries in a single day since the onset of the pandemic, after 350 people were discharged from the hospital in the past 24 hours.
With this, total recoveries now stands at 11,372.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today there were 660 new Covid-19 infections reported in the past 24 hours, of which 658 were locally transmitted.
Sabah, which accounted for 443 of the locally transmitted cases, reported four new virus clusters.
The state also reported four new deaths, which brings the toll to 163.
The new daily cases bring the national caseload to 16,880.
Citizens accounted for 618 of the locally transmitted cases while the remaining 40 were foreigners.
Active cases, on the other hand, stood at 5,345.
Meanwhile, 101 patients are currently warded at the intensive care unit, of whom 32 are on respiratory support. β October 13, 2020.
