OPPOSITION parties launched an online do-it-yourself kit to disseminate their campaign materials ahead of the 14th general election (GE14).
Pakatan Harapan (PH) election chief Muhyiddin Yassin cited an online research which stated that 22 million Malaysians, 70% of the country’s 31 million people, were social media users.
“This is the best opportunity for Pakatan Harapan to disseminate information to the people through social media ahead of GE14.
“Social media is more interactive compared to other forms of traditional media. Through social media, we can interact directly with the people by sharing information quickly,” Muhyiddin said at Bersatu headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.
The kit includes pamphlets, posters and stickers, which users can print out and give out to the public, as well as videos which can be shared through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
“We also included a voters’ guide in the form of videos and posters. It’s important for voters to know the voting procedure and their rights as a voter.
“Malaysians also can submit content to us to be shared on this platform. We hope the public will respond positively and post it to various media that they have,” added Muhyiddin.
Among the opposition leaders who attended the launch was PH and Bersatu chairman Dr Mahathir Moahamad, PKR and PH president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.
