HUSAM Musa has denied a rift with Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and insists he is on the same page as his party boss.

The former Amanah vice-president said his voluntary resignation was well received by other leaders, including the president.

“Reports that I have a problem with Mohamad Sabu are incorrect. I’m rarely confrontational in these matters, and I do not take an approach that causes tension in the party.

“I met the Amanah leadership and Mohamad Sabu himself and submitted the letter and resigned voluntarily without any issues,” he said during a Sinar Harian forum today that was live streamed.

He said Mohamad, popularly known as Mat Sabu, understood his decision and it was discussed in the meeting on September 6.

“They agreed to it and there is no problem with my wishes (to resign),” he said.

However, the former Kubang Kerian MP did not give any reason why he gave up his vice-president’s post.

The Malaysian Insight reported on Monday quoting party sources that Husam had quit over differences with Mat Sabu.

The same day, Amanah also confirmed Husam’s resignation but said it was not over leadership differences.

Husam also described Mat Sabu as a hard-working leader who accepted the opinions of others. – September 16, 2020.
