A COVID-19 alert on the MySejahtera app was triggered in Subang Jaya, Selangor, after a foreigner was temporarily quarantined at a hotel there, said Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

Dr Noor Hisham said the foreigner’s employer had quarantined the person pending results of the Covid-19 test/

The address registered on the app was that of the hotel in Subang Jaya.

“After the Covid-19 test result came out, the registration address was changed to Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Cheras, where the person used to stay prior to being admitted to Sungai Buloh, Hospital,” he said.

He said the change in address was important in order to carry out active contact tracing at the area of the person’s residence in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn.

“The said location has been updated in the MySejahtera application as the address of the case,” he explained.

He was answering Subang Jaya assemblyman Michelle Ng’s question on the  conflicting information from the police and the MySejahtera app over the purported Covid-19 cases detected near the Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang Parade and Mydin USJ.

Dr Noor Hisham thanked the public for using the MySejahtera application and for their cooperation in reporting any issues related to Covid-19 to the ministry.
