MALAYSIA reported 19 recoveries as of noon today, bringing the number of active cases down to 166 from 174 yesterday, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 8,803.
He said of the 11 new cases reported today, six were locally transmitted and the remainder returnees from abroad.
Total cases now number 9,094.
Dr Noor Hisham said five of the six cases of local transmission were Malaysian.
Three of these were linked to the Kurau cluster in Perak, one was detected during pre-admission screening in a hospital in Malacca, and one during pre-surgery screening in Johor
The foreigner who was locally infected was detected during a workplace screening in Selangor.
No fatalities were reported, keeping the death toll at 125.
