MALAYSIA reported seven new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, of which three were locally transmitted, director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.
The fresh cases bring the national tally to 8,904, with the number of active cases at 179.
Noor Hisham said all three locally transmitted cases involved Malaysians and were detected in Sabah.
They were discovered during pre-surgery screenings.
The remaining four cases were imported.
Meanwhile, one patient has recovered and was discharged from the hospital as of noon today.
There are also no patients currently in intensive care.
This brings the total number of recoveries to 8,601.
No fatalities were reported, keeping the death toll at 124. β July 27, 2020.
